Frequently Asked Questions
This is where we put everything that wouldn't fit on the rest of the site. If you have any questions that aren't answered here, please see our support section.

Support Information

How do I get help with my account?

See our support section for details. There you'll be able to choose the product you need help with and we'll direct your request to the group that handles support for it.

What response time can I expect for support?

For web and email hosting we offer live chat and phone support. You'll be connected to a technician immediately and most issues are resolved quickly and during your initial call. If further research is needed a ticket will be opened for you and the technician will update the ticket and email you with any followup questions or updates.

For other products such as domains, SSL, and ProductCart we offer support via email. Response time is typically within minutes during standard business hours in the Eastern time zone but may be delayed until the following business day.

Email Setup and Configuration

How can I quickly set up my email client in Windows?

If you are running Windows, you can download our Email Config Tool for Windows. This will quickly set up a new account or update an existing email account in Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Windows Vista Mail, or Eudora.

What settings do I use to manually set up my email client?

To manually set up an email client like Outlook, Thunderbird, etc. use the following settings:

  • POP or IMAP: Select the one you want to use. POP is the most common and likely what you are used to using.
  • Incoming server name: mail.yourdomain.com where yourdomain.com is your domain name.
  • Outgoing server name: same as the incoming server name above.
  • Incoming server username: your full email address.
  • Incoming server password: the password for your email account.
  • Outgoing server settings: you will need to enable the option for your mail client to log in to the outgoing mail server (use authentication) and to use the same username and password as the incoming mail server.

Detailed setup guides and videos for most all email clients and operating systems are available on the Mailtrust site. Mailtrust is the provider for our email solution.

How much email storage space do I get?

Each email account can store up to 1GB of email. Total email storage for your domain is subject to the Total Storage limit for your hosting plan.

How do I access Webmail?

To access Webmail, go to http://webmail.domain.com/ where domain.com is your domain name. Log in using your email address and email account password.

Adaptive System Technology

How can I run ASP/ASP.NET and PHP on the same site?

Our hosting system has backend clusters of IIS and Apache servers. ASP/ASP.NET files are served by IIS and PHP files are served by Apache. You don't have to do anything differently than you do with any other host, but you get more flexibility and are able to run different languages in their native environments. More info...

Why do I have to choose a primary technology when I sign up? Can I change it later?

Choosing a primary technology determines which environment is used to serve files that aren't tied to a specific environment (e.g. HTML files). You can request to have this changed at any time, but please note there may be some downtime for your site since this requires a DNS update to change IP addresses.

How do I choose a primary technology?

If you already have an existing site, choose the same technology you are using now. For example, if your site is currently hosted on a Linux server you'll want to choose either PHP4 or PHP5--if you're not sure, choose PHP4. If your site is currently hosted on a Windows server, choose the IIS technology. If you are starting a new site, choose the primary technology that you plan on using to develop your site. If all this is too confusing, just use our sales chat at the top of the page and we'll get you on the right track.

Windows Technologies

What versions of the .Net Framework can I use?

We offer .Net Framework v3.5 running on IIS7. This allows you to use any Framework version from 1.0 through 3.5.

When I update my application, it doesn't reload. How do I reload a .Net application?

Due to the clustered environment, IIS doesn't pick up changes to your web application files. To reload your application, log in to your control panel, select your domain and use the Rebuild Application link in the Website Features section to reload it.

About Host Orlando

Is this the same Host Orlando that changed names to Adaptive Hosting Solutions?

Yes, that's us. We're bringing back the Host Orlando brand as our web hosting service to complement our Blogzerk blog hosting service and our development services.

How long have you been in business? What's your history?

Hey, that's two questions but we'll answer both anyway. Host Orlando was started in 2000 by Chris Scott. In 2004 the name was changed to Adaptive Hosting Solutions. In mid-2005 Chris and Adaptive Hosting Solutions were acquired by Orlando ad agency (and good friends) Red Rocket. Then, in January, 2006 Chris and Adaptive Hosting Solutions were acquired by (and, again, good friends) LoanProposals.com. In early 2008 the Host Orlando brand was brought back and the company is still run by Chris and the LoanProposals.com team.

All web and email hosting plans are billed on the first day of the month and are automatically renewed unless canceled.

How do I cancel my account?

To cancel your account, you must use the link provided in your account control panel. This is the only way to ensure your cancellation request will be processed and prevent you from being billed on the next renewal date.

What is your refund policy?

The following is an overview of our refund policies. For full details, see our policies section.

For web and email hosting, you can cancel your account any time within 30 days of signup to receive a full refund for your hosting plan charge. After 30 days, you can cancel at any time and your account will not be renewed the following month, however, your account will be still be available until the end of the current month and will not be refunded. You can choose during the cancellation process to have your account immediately removed, but please note that this does note change the refund policy.

Domain name orders, renewals, and transfers are not refundable.

ProductCart licenses are refundable within 30 days of purchase provided you fill out and fax us a Proof of Destruction form that verifies you are no longer using the license and have deleted any copies of the software.

Do you have an SLA?

No, we don't. Most hosting SLAs aren't worth the bits they are written with. What we do is work to ensure that all our services are up as close to 100% as possible and that you receive prompt, useful support when you need it.

Where can I find your Policies and Terms of Service?

Right here. This link is also provided on the final page of checkout when ordering a product or service.
